Loring Family Announces Challenge Grant to Bring Children's Friend and Family Services Third Century Capital Campaign Closer to Goal

Children's Friend and Family Services is extremely pleased to announce that it has received a Challenge Grant from The Loring Family of Prides Crossing, MA to help to bring its capital campaign to a successful $1.3 million conclusion. The grant will match dollar for dollar, up to $50,000, all new gifts made to the current Third Century Campaign of Children's Friend and Family Services, effective June 1st . “We are so grateful to the Lorings who launched the campaign with a generous gift and have now come full circle to help complete our campaign with this wonderful Challenge Grant,” notes Steve Schaffer, Executive Director of Children’s Friend. “We are moved and honored by their commitment, and thankful on behalf of the thousands of children and family members we serve each year.”

Schaffer reports that the campaign is progressing ahead of schedule thanks to the munificent philanthropic support of 150 donors raising almost $1.2 million. Thanks to the campaign Children's Friend and Family Services Children's Friend was able, after 50 years, to move from its home on Bridge Street in Salem into a fully renovated new facility, formerly Salem’s Endicott School at 110 Boston Street.
